BILLBOARD STRUCTURES

GYMPIE, TOWNSVILLE, MACKAY, BIBRA LAKE, PELICAN POINT AND BAYSWATER

About this construction project: Gympie

SNAP SHOT

The client chose Gwyth Jones to complete this commercial construction project because of our experience and knowledge in dealing with the complexities of large scale LED billboards, such as the structure behind the scenes, the value of the screen and the tight deadlines that need to be adhered to for the advertising to go live.

FEATURES

This construction project was managed remotely from Perth.

CHALLENGES OF THE CONSTRUCTION PROJECT

With the LED screen being delivered from America with a 12-weeks lead time, a crucial part of this commercial construction was ensuring that the screen structure was ready for the installation of the screen when it arrived, due to the remote locations and delay costs.

About this construction project: Townsville & Mackay

These LED screen billboard structures were completed in 2019, both set on the Queensland coast. Gwyth Jones was chosen by the client to undertake both these construction projects in conjunction with them.

CHALLENGES OF THE CONSTRUCTION PROJECT

Both construction projects were manufactured in Perth and transported to Queensland via rail with the LED screen transported from America. Logistically, this was a very complicated project as the timeline was crucial to ensure the practical completion date was adhered to for the advertising to go live. Both construction projects were completed on time and within budget.

About this construction project: Pelican Point

SNAP SHOT

The LED screen billboard structure was completed in 2020 and set in the south west, Pelican Point.

FEATURES

The structure was 6 m high x 9 m wide and cladded with a bespoke composite cladding to emphasise the time effect.

CHALLENGES OF THE CONSTRUCTION PROJECT

The construction of the project in general was challenging as the site was on a busy roundabout, which meant logistics and traffic management was paramount to ensure a safe execution of the project. The construction project was completed on time and within budget.

About this construction project: Bayswater (ongoing)

Gwyth Jones has been engaged by one of our existing clients to bring this project to life – from planning approval to design to construction of the billboard and structure.

CHALLENGES OF THE CONSTRUCTION PROJECT

The site being directly next to Tonkin Highway (one of Perth’s major highways) poses a challenge to the logistics of this project.

To overcome this, the whole structure and screen will have to be fabricated and populated off site to enable a swift installation of the whole structure in one piece.
